Gauge: 18 sts, 24 rows = 10 cm, or
4.5 sts, 6 rows = 1 inch in stockinet
This was the first pattern in the Fairisle round yoke series, and was for a KnitALong when the group was restricted to plastic bed knitting machines, such as the LK 150 and Brother KX 350. It is constructed the way hand knitting yoke patterns were typicaly made in the 20th century. Back and Front are shaped the same; there is no short rowing to raise the back neck, or lower the front. Yoke is made in two pieces, with seams on top of the shoulders.
The pattern is written in as a tutorial, and is too long for this website. Download a PDF file here.
Even though there is no current KnitALong running on the Facebook group for this pattern, many members are still knitting it, and you will find help and encouragement there. The direct link to Machine Knitting Round Yokes is here. You do need to ask to join as a member and agree to the rules, which are simply no selling or self promotion, and post only about round yoke garments (any style of round yoke is OK).
