Size Charts

Size charts for Ladies, Men and Children are snown below in both inches and centimeters. A PDF file containing all charts is also available by clicking the link.

These are newer charts than the ones on the original Clearwater Knits website. They have been adapted to be used with a calculator and also when using software such as DesignaKnit. DesignaKnit calculates in both centimeters and inches, but inches must be entered in tenths of an inch; it does not work with fractions. This means you will be working with tenths of an inch instead of fractions, and this amount is rounded to just one decimal place, since that is what DesignaKnit uses.

For those who wish to work inĀ  inches, use a calculator to change fractions into decimals and round to one number after decimal point, as follows:
1/8 = .125, round to .1 or do not round at all

1/4 = .25, round to .3

3/8 = .375, round to .4

1/2 =.5 do not round
5/8 = .625, round to .6

3/4 = .75, round to .8

7/8 = .875, round to .9 or round up to next whole number.

Many people prefer not to use the eighths measurements. This usually works, since a quarter of an inch is such a small amount it normally won’t make a difference in the finished garment. This choice is totally up to you.
